BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems seeks a dynamic individual to join our team as a Quality Control Technician at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the development of high-quality products.

Key Accountabilities:

• Act as quality representative in the production shopfloor
• Implement quality control plans
• Approve first and last parts according to control plans
• Review daily defects and identify new failure modes or abnormal quantities
• Examine scrap daily and notify Quality Engineer and Engineering of new failure modes or abnormal quantities
• Resolve doubts arising in the production process, aligned with engineering requirements
• Identify and report non-conforming or suspicious products/raw materials to prevent improper shipment
• Engage supplier quality for incoming inspections when defects are found on raw materials, following internal procedures
• Maintain containment areas (on-hold)
• Ensure control charts are properly filled out according to capability studies
• Assess measurement systems (MSA) according to procedures
• Update Quality criteria
• Conduct checks (audits) on processes, compile results, and issue reports
• Support engineering during equipment validation and capability studies/MSA
• Participate in quality-related studies
• Execute Containment Plans
• Apply proper handling and storage of chemical substances
• Enforce collection and storage of waste
• Maintain 5's in the area under quality responsibility
• Comply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene, and environmental prevention standards
• Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
• Adhere to environmental policy rules
• Perform other tasks as needed

Education & Experience:

• Secondary education in a related technical field
• Good computer skills
• Interpersonal Communication skills
• Fluent in English
