BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Environment, Health and Safety Technician at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Key Accountabilities
- Ensure the implementation of the best Health and Safety and Environment practices
- Ensure that the company complies with current legislation on Health and Safety and the Environment
- Promote working conditions in matters of Health, Safety and Environment so that they are always respected
- Ensure safe work practices and that incidents with lost work time are kept to a minimum
- Ensure the development, monitoring and implementation of the Environmental and Safety Management System
- Make sure that interruptions to critical business functions are minimized
- Implement, maintain and continuously improve the company's GSSF system
- Develop and offer training sessions for employees
- Identify and meet training needs of employees in relation to Health, Safety and Environment
- Conduct regular audits and monitor the performance of Safety Management to identify areas for improvement and appropriate corrective or preventive measures, including follow-up assessments
- Conduct regular audits and monitor the performance of Environmental Management to identify areas for improvement and appropriate corrective or preventive measures, including follow-up assessments
- Participate in the investigation and reporting of accidents / incidents
- Promote that all environmental and safety issues as well as emergencies are managed in compliance with the requirements of all applicable regulations by international standards and national laws, as appropriate
- Ensure that Emergency Response Plans are tested to confirm validity and that local emergency response teams are operational at all times
- Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards
- Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period
- Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
- Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service

Education & Experience
- Degree in Engineering (preferably)
- Official Certification of Occupational Health and Safety Technician
- Master's Degree in Occupational Safety and Environment will be an asset
- 3 years minimum of professional experience as a Technician in similar functions (preferably in the Automotive or Industrial field)
- Good computer knowledge from the user's perspective.
- Auditing techniques (such as Internal Auditor or equivalent).
- Availability to carry out a Temporary Replacement
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Portuguese
