We are a leading renewable energy company passionate about sustainable development. Our team is responsible for producing electricity from wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and storage, as well as providing services to third-party clients in the fields of development, EPC, O&M, and distribution.

Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at Voltalia, you will be part of our global operating capacity team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as ambassador of safety by design, ensuring that rules and strategic follow-up prioritize safety when designing and implementing projects.
  • SUPPORTING the EPC business line in their engineering needs, especially during the preparation and execution of projects.
  • Overseeing the successful execution of solar PV projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Defining and deploying design office procedures, tools, and methods, including the approach to external engineering companies (subcontractors) or remote design offices with a clear framework for fast response times.
  • Supervising people allocation and subcontracting to projects.
  • Coordinating with regional EPC managers and Global planner Engineering resources allocation (external engineering and internal resources).
  • Acting as the Center of Expertise focal point regarding Return on Experience (REX) on executed EPC projects, both for internal (done for Voltalia as IPP) and external (for third parties).
  • Providing LCOE improvement that increases competitiveness on Voltalia's offers.
  • Developing and implementing a strategic vision for the engineering department serving EPC, aligning with the company's long-term goals.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Leading the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness for execution, in alignment with the other COE managers.
  • Driving engineering teams to show the impact of technical choices, especially on CAPEX/OPEX.
  • Utilizing internal and external resources to optimize cost, time, and quality.
  • Ensuring the correct implementation of COE Engineering processes and standardization.
  • Fulfilling internal tracking requirements that allow traceability of hours, resources, and needs on the short and long run.
  • Establishing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance processes to guarantee the reliability and performance of solar PV systems.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or Degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
  • Relevant experience in engineering/renewables (+5 years).
  • Good skills in CAD tools, Excel, and simulation tools (PVSyst).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical projects and PV.
  • Previous Team Management.
  • Valued network with external engineering companies.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Portuguese, French, or Spanish advanced level is a plus.
Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position ranges between €80,000 and €110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
