Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Sustainability Specialist to join our R&D facility. This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive HSE programs, policies, and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures. Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions. Coordinate regular safety audits and inspections of the facilities.
Training and Education: Conduct HSE training sessions and safety drills for staff and contractors. Develop and distribute educational materials on HSE topics. Ensure all employees are aware of and comply with HSE regulations and best practices.
Compliance and Documentation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE regulations and standards. Ensure compliance with HSE laws and regulations. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
Environmental Stewardship: Implement and manage waste disposal and recycling programs. Monitor environmental impact and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Promote sustainable practices within the facility.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure readiness for various scenarios. Serve as the point of contact for emergency situations.
What you will bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• 5-8 years of proven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures in the chemical sector or similar
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to conduct training sessions and engage with diverse teams
• Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools
• Certification in HSE is a plus
Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
