About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Localization Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Localization QA Specialist, you will work within our Localization Quality Assurance team and be the very first person to see the localized game in its entirety – translated text, images and the rest of the user interface collectively. You'll get to experience the project in the way it will be consumed by the end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a global project team.
  • Identify and correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other language errors.
  • Ensure adherence to console manufacturer guidelines.
  • Log details of errors and issues, providing improvement suggestions.
  • Ensure accurate translation within context and maintain consistency in terminology and imagery.
  • Identify missing or incorrect content and ensure proper display/format of dates, calendars, and characters.
  • Write reports on errors and bugs found and perform ad hoc translation.
  • Oversee the quality of your work, collaborate with the team, and contribute to the overall success of projects.

Our Localization QA team performs language checks on a range of yet-to-be-released games for a variety of platforms including PC, Xbox One, PS5, Wii, PS Vita, DS, Switch, VR and various mobile and tablet devices. As a Localization QA Specialist, you would be working on top gaming titles for some of the world's leading publishers.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese and English.
  • Strong cultural understanding of the language you are applying for.
  • Computer literacy – particularly with Excel.
  • Robust Internet research skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with using different software, applications, and websites.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and collaborate within project teams.
  • Be able to provide evidence of Right to Work in Portugal.

  • €6 per working day in meal allowance.

Working Conditions

  • On-Site in our Studio in Braga, Portugal.
  • 8:00 to 17:00, Mondays through Fridays.
  • For part-time and freelance, you will be required to work minimum 4 hours between 8:00 to 17:00, Mondays through Fridays (Portugal Time Zone).

Remote Work

  • Only Freelancers are allowed to work remotely. Full-time and part-time employment contract are required to work on-site in Braga, Portugal.
