Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Specialist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and packaging surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization, adhering to strict standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately handle and care for instruments and equipment, including selection of cleaning agents and lubricants.
- Identify, document, and report equipment and tools in need of repair.
- Organize, prepare, assemble, and sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies according to hospital standards.
- Load, monitor, operate, and maintain cleaning and sterilization equipment and machinery.
- Assist in maintaining records of equipment and supplies, ordering supplies as needed, and monitoring quality control and infection control standards.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification in Sterile Processing preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in sterile processing or related surgical services experience.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and computer skills.
