Job Title: Research Trainer - Chemistry

Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto is seeking a highly qualified Research Trainer to join our team in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the maintenance of vitamin and mineral stability in formulations during shelf life, assessing the phenolic content of formulations, and preparing elements for labeling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the maintenance of vitamin and mineral stability in formulations during shelf life using accelerated aging studies.
  • Assess the phenolic content of formulations through colorimetric and chromatographic techniques.
  • Prepare elements for labeling, including ingredient lists and nutritional declarations.
  • Evaluate the bioaccessibility of products using digestion systems.
  • Assess the stability of bioaccessibility in digested fluids using intestinal cell culture models.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Proven experience in extraction, characterization, purification, and identification of natural compounds.
  • Knowledge of colorimetric techniques and methods for assessing bioaccessibility and bioavailability.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
