Your Mission
You will be responsible for driving growth and margin for products manufactured in our Portuguese factory. Your goal will be to expand our factory by developing new products and business opportunities. As the link between our customers, sales team, and factory, you will require technical expertise and a strong commercial background to succeed. You will collaborate closely with European departments such as sales, marketing, and R&D, relying on customer understanding to develop products that meet desired business objectives and report directly to the VP Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop a strategic growth plan for products and customers, aligning it with overall European business goals and presenting it to internal stakeholders.
2. Support the European sales organization in various ways, including arranging customer meetings, preparing quotations, product information, and samples, to sell products manufactured in Portugal while meeting business targets and building long-term relationships with key customers.
3. Translate customer and sales/marketing requirements into products that can be manufactured cost-efficiently in Portugal, working closely with R&D, sales, marketing, and factory teams. Technical expertise is crucial to ensure products meet customer needs and are manufactured at the lowest possible cost.
4. Own the process from product design to delivery of products to customers for products manufactured in Portugal, focusing on meeting customer expectations for specifications, timing, quality, and costs through effective project management.
Performance Metrics:
Monitoring budget and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
Your Profile:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
a Master's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development.
At least 10 years of experience in sales engineering or technical sales leadership within the industrial sector, preferably in mass market, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, developing sales strategies, and achieving business objectives. Experience in managing a factory is highly desirable.
Able to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences. Strong commercial skills, analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, collaboration skills, project management skills, and market insight are essential. Familiarity with production processes such as plastic injection molding, blow molding, and fabrics, as well as quality processes and control, is required.
