Installation Technician

HomeTeam is seeking a versatile and hands-on Installation & Logistics Technician to join our team. In this dual-focus role, you will be responsible for remote technical assistance for Video, Audio, and networking configurations and quality - and - when needed, travel to remote locations. You will be responsible for the physical deployment of network and electrical infrastructure for assigned Client locations as well as the management of equipment inventory and shipping logistics. The ideal candidate has experience with IP networks, Audio and Video transmission, and is comfortable working at heights, technically proficient with low-voltage cabling, and highly organized regarding asset management. Travel Requirement Up to 35% travel may be required. All travel expenses (flights, lodging, meals, etc.) are fully paid and covered under the Company's travel policy. Contract Rate 2,300 Euro per month Key Responsibilities: Remote System Support Remote Installation Support: Provide live, real time support to installers in the installation, set up, configuration, and troubleshooting of IP based audio and video systems for on-site staff completing initial installation and the ongoing support. Remote Issue Resolution: Act as first level support for hardware and/or network issues. Remote Network Support: Assist with the configuration of remote networks in support of internal LANs and VLANs over Cat5e/6, Wireless, and SDI infrastructure. Remote System Checks: Verify network connectivity, audio quality, picture quality, on an ongoing basis across multiple venues daily to ensure 100% uptime and reliability. Remote Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service, acting as the first point of contact for any and all infrastructure concerns. Technical Installation & Networking Cabling Infrastructure: Install, troubleshoot, and repair low-voltage infrastructure. This includes running, cutting, cleaning, and splicing cable, as well as ensuring proper pin-out and termination of RJ45 connectors for CAT5 and CAT6 cabling. Temporary Installations and Removals: On occasion networks and camera set-ups may be needed temporarily for events, Hardware Configuration: Set up, configure, and mount security cameras, internet routers, and Wi-Fi network systems to ensure optimal connectivity and coverage. Electrical Implementation: Conduct basic electrical wiring tasks, including running conduit, snaking wire, and installing weather-resistant exterior outlets. Power Connectivity: Safely and efficiently connect new and existing 120V outlets to existing 220V junction boxes. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all installations meet rigorous safety standards and comply with local building codes. Work at Heights: Utilize ladders up to 40 feet to perform installations and repairs safely. Logistics & Inventory Management Inventory Control: Maintain an organized inventory of installation equipment and supplies; physically lift, move, and organize stock to ensure readiness. Asset Tracking: Act as the master administrator for the Asset Tiger inventory tracking system. You will conduct audits, keep records updated in real-time, and track all equipment movement. Shipping Coordination: Arrange on-demand shipments for internal and customer needs. Utilize platforms (such as ShipTime) to manage domestic and international shipping, optimizing for cost and delivery speed. Continuous Improvement Customer Support: Provide excellent on-site customer service, acting as the face of the company during installations and addressing client concerns professionally. Innovation: Stay continuously updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements to our installation processes and equipment choices. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Proven experience in low-voltage cabling (CAT5/CAT6), IP camera installation, and basic electrical work. Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet. Ability to lift heavy equipment and manage inventory physical loads. Comfortable working in various environments (indoors, outdoors, and at heights). Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand tools, testers, and crimpers. Experience with inventory management software (Asset Tiger experience is a plus). Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-first attitude. Licensing: Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred Certifications While not mandatory, candidates holding the following or similar certifications will be given priority: Safety: OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Certification. Cabling: BICSI Installer 1 or 2 (Copper). Networking: CompTIA Network+ or C-Tech Network Cabling Specialist. Electrical: Low Voltage License or relevant state-specific electrical apprentice/journeyman status. What We Offer Full coverage of travel expenses. Tools and equipment provided.
