Associate Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and assist on preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts

What will you do:
The scope of the role will be focused on the Portuguese company, but will also include EMEA and LATAM as assistance to other group companies. Your duties will include (but not limited to):

- Collaborate in the month end close process, including journal posting, internal reporting and analysis
- Bank account reconciliations
- Accounts payable ensuring accurate and timely payments of all invoices
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Collaborate in preparation of the Annual Statutory accounts
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP principles
- Collaborate on year end audit process
- Cash flow reporting
- Maintenance of fixed assets register
- Ad hoc accounting tasks or projects
- Liaise with the Accounting manager to improve financial procedures
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Provide accounting support and reports to external accountants when needed
- Experience in working with different currencies and revaluation processes

What we are looking for:

- Degree qualified and either studying towards your professional qualification (CPA or equivalent)
- 1 years accounting experience
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
- Fluent in Spanish, written and spoken
- Understanding of the month end process
- Proven strong reconciliations abilities (essential)
- Solid analytical and PC skills (Advanced MS Office Excel user)
- High attention to detail
- Resourceful and hard worker
- Process driven
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Team Player
- A ‘can do’ attitude as well as a passion for financial accounting
