**About Merkle**

As a **Finance Trainee** in our **Record to Report (R2R)** team, you will help maintain accurate financial records and contributing to the success of our organization. Your tasks will involve handling reconciliations, accruals, reporting, and providing support to more senior team members. Since this is a trainee position, we understand that you may not have prior experience in finance. Here are the main responsibilities for this role:

- Help reconcile multiple financial accounts, including bank statements, intercompany transactions, and general ledger balances.
- Resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate data reconciliation.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end accrual processes.
- Record and validate accrual entries for expenses, revenue, and other financial items.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
- Help prepare management reports for senior leadership.
- Work with experienced team members to learn best practices and gain practical experience.
- Collaborate on special projects related to process improvement, system enhancements, or financial analysis.
- Provide administrative support as needed.

You will be reporting to the Report to Record Team Lead
**Qualifications** Education**: A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

**Skills**:

- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software (as a plus).
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- While prior experience is not mandatory, willingness to learn and adapt quickly is essential.
- Basic understanding of financial processes.
