The primary objective of the Strategy and Strategic Investments team is to be the strategic thought partner and advisor to the senior management of Global Markets and General Management of the Bank, to guide and support the management of the activity. The team has also the mandate to lead and manage the equity investments in companies that Global Markets makes (in Fintech for instance, or through M&A transaction like the deal with Deutsche Bank).

**Your Main Activities Are**

The role of the Strategy and Strategic Investments Officer is to support the Head of the team and its senior members to:

- Build the strategic planning process for Global Markets globally and proactively challenge the strategy
- Manage the competitive benchmarking for Global Markets to duly understand the industry landscape, the competitors’ business mix and evolution, the revenue pool variations, the market and wallet share evolution, etc
- Stay abreast of overall industry and regulatory trends and distil implications for the business
- Define, structure and lead projects of strategic relevance to the business
- Manage relevant business development topics (acquisitions, JVs, partnerships, divestments, etc.)
- Support Global Markets management with significant milestones (e.g. Strategic presentations, update to General Management of the Bank on strategic initiatives and Global Markets performance)
- Become a trusted partner and adviser to senior business stakeholders in GM
- Effectively manage the more junior team members in Lisbon by providing coaching and guidance, developing their skills and taking the ultimate responsibility for the quality of the output produced

**Profile and Skills to Success**
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance or Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of the Global Markets product set, business models, revenue and costs drivers, competitive environment and industry trends and genuine appetite to develop this expertise
- Intellectual horsepower to make a major strategic contribution to the future of BNP Paribas’ GM business
- “Consulting” skills, including ability to structure problems into work packages
- Analytical skills including the ability to dig and understand complex situations
- Intellectual rigor, including with numbers
- Comfortable in directly engaging with Senior Management
- Communication skills (oral and writing)
- Agility and adaptability in a highly demanding environment
