As a Statutory & Tax Specialist for Iberia supporting the Financial Reporting and Accounting team, you will be trusted to work on the proper execution of Tax and Statutory Accounting processes in accordance with IFRS, Alcon Manual of Accounting and local statutory/tax regulations and policies at our office in Oeiras, Portugal.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Management of Portuguese Tax processes and support to Iberia Tax matters in close coordination with Statutory & Tax Manager.- Ensure delivery of the direct, indirect and other local taxes (Corporate Income Tax or IRC, VAT, IES, stamp duty, etc ). Tax preparation, analysis and submission.- SAFT management and development.- Monitor local tax environment, defining local Law requirements and working with FRA and IT teams to drive quality and ensure compliance with local tax laws, advising Group Tax on relevant local tax developments.- Close collaboration with FRA Accounting team in Warsaw and Surgical & Vision Care business partners to ensure accurate accounting and statutory reporting.- CIT monthly estimate calculation and posting.- Preparation of local Financial Statements and assigned statutory reports to management and authorities following local regulations and Alcon Accounting Manual.- Transfer Price monitoring and support preparing local documentation.- Collaborates with key stakeholders, including tax authorities and auditors.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration, Economics or Finance.- Proven local work experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer.- Local accounting “Técnico de Contas” certificate would be an advantage.- Solid experience in statutory/IFRS accounting and auditing cycle & disciplines.- 3-5 years of tax and financial experience.- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization with multiple stakeholders in a multifunctional team.- SAP expertise would be desirable.- Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements.- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.- Fluent English language (written and spoken). Spanish would be an advantage.
