**What’s the role about?**

We are seeking an The Tax Specialist that will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager.

The Tax Specialist is responsible for preparing tax returns and workpapers, organising tax payments and tax accounts reconciliations, providing support to the business and responses to Tax Authorities queries, tax audits, internal requests and supporting projects.

**What you'll do?**
- Collection, preparation and analysis of financial data, legal documents and other relevant info required for local tax filings/tax audits and any other statutory requirements
- Preparing tax returns, schedules and workpapers
- Provide/prepare documents supporting the transactional data
- Prepare tax reconciliations, including monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations before the return is filed
- Completion of tax tools as part of preparation and review of provision and compliance
- Upload/submit the final tax return and support to tax compliance tracking system
- Assist with all tax operational matters and identify any compliance issues. Escalating matters to the Senior Tax Manager for advice and resolution
- Provide audit support and responses as required
- If applicable, the mains responsibilities during Transition period are:

- Perform knowledge transfer through “train, observe, support & perform” phases, representing Porto SSC with local Entity team
- Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process flows
- Support integration of newly transitioned processes into SSC; during training, hyper care and beyond
- Train new SSC team members in processes
- Contribute to continuous process improvements
- Escalate issues and feedback from local Entities

**What are we looking for?**
- Essential: _
- Bachelor’s degree in Tax, accounting, management or equivalent
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience of working in Tax, within a complex and large volume environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of ERP systems, processes and workflow technology
- Desirable _: _
- Knowledge of European VAT regulations and requirements
- Knowledge of other jurisdictions outside EU regulations and requirements is a plus
- Experience in working in a in a similar industry, as well as in a shared service environment is a plus
