**Start** **ASAP** **Duration** **> 12 months** **Job Title: Senior Oracle DBA**: **Job Type: B2B Contract**: **Location: Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid work - 2x week)**: **Duration: 12 months initial contract + extension**: **Main Responsibilities**: - Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Sybase environments.- Deliver expert-level technical support to internal DBA teams and external client deployments.- Ensure high availability, security, and resilience of all production and nonproduction database systems.- Continuously monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot system and query-level performance bottlenecks.- Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to design scalable, efficient database architectures.- Participate in R&D initiatives by evaluating new database features and technologies for integration into the CV platform.- Lead database migrations, version upgrades, and patch management processes.- Establish and maintain robust documentation and best practice guidelines for database operations. **Key Requirements**: - 5+ years of experience as a professional DBA, with expert-level Oracle database administration.- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Sybase, and optionally MariaDB/MySQL.- Deep knowledge of SQL scripting, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.- Proven ability to conduct performance troubleshooting and root cause analysis in production environments.- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.- Experience managing and supporting databases on cloud platforms, specifically Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). **Nice to Have**: - Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, pgAdmin, etc.) and automation frameworks is a plus.- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented, proactive mindset.- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certifications.- Experience working in agile/Scrum environments.- Ability to engage with clients directly and provide consultation-level support. **Other Details**: - Work Model: Hybrid work setup — 2 days/week onsite at Spaces, Marquês de Pombal, Lisbon.- Join a specialized DBA team that emphasizes technical discussions and collaborative problem-solving.- Work on both internal platforms and external client environments.
