**Job Title: Technical Lead**

**Location: Hybrid working, home & BCA Coimbra (monthly visits)**

**Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Meal Voucher**

**Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours**

- The Constellation Technology Team provides a group-wide set of Technology Products and Services across the Constellation Automotive Group. We are a central function working across the following domains: Technology Operations, Cyber Security, Product, Engineering, Enterprise Applications, Logistics, Architecture and Portfolio; across the UK and Europe._
- Our software engineering team is at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies and projects revolutionising the automotive industry. **_ Role Accountabilities:_**
- Guiding a team of talented engineers with a mix of encouragement, innovation, and collaboration. You’re not just overseeing; you’re inspiring a team of passionate people, fostering a space where future leaders are molded.
- Ensuring continuous delivery of value to users through efficient development practices and well-coordinated releases.
- Collaborating closely with Design and Product teams to implement visually compelling and intuitive interfaces.
- Aligning the team's work with the product vision and strategic goals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Handling line management duties, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations by setting clear goals and expectations.
- Driving improvements of engineering practices within the team to enhance efficiency, code quality, and user experience. Ensure code quality and maintainability by conducting code reviews, writing tests, and documenting work.
- Staying abreast of the latest development trends and best practices and providing technical leadership to the team.

**_ Knowledge:_**
- Strong proficiency in AWS, Serverless, TypeScript, Node.js, React and React Native or similar platforms/paradigms/ languages/frameworks.
- Demonstrable DevOps mindset having taken accountability for the entire lifecycle of a product.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with various forms of automated testing, coupled with a strong understanding of TDD/BDD concepts.
- Experience in people management, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Capable problem-solver with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders and to communicate technical information clearly.

**_ Relationships:_**
- Engineers: Leading and collaborating with a team of full stack engineers to build user-friendly, high-performance apps.
- UX/UI Designers: Partnering closely with UX/UI designers to ensure implemented interfaces match designs and provide an optimal user experience.
- Product Owners: Working closely with product owners to align the team's work with product vision and strategic goals.
- Heads of Product: Coordinating with heads of product to ensure the development efforts align with their expectations and contribute to the overall product strategy.
- Engineering Management: Collaborating with engineering management to facilitate efficient organisational communication and collaboration and drive continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Contributing to the hybrid work culture, balancing remote and in-office work while fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
