**About the Role**

As Lead UX Researcher, you will split your time between two primary responsibilities in equal proportion. You will be responsible for leading research operations, such as participant recruitment and engagement, knowledge management, project calendars, and longitudinal customer surveys. In this capacity, you will work with team leadership to support effective team operations, increasing the consistency, efficiency, and efficacy of our research team.

You will also maintain a workload of UX research projects. In this capacity, you will plan, execute, and analyze a variety of qualitative and quantitative user research projects. The UX research team strives to execute effective, actionable user research projects across the research, design, and development lifecycles. A typical project might include running remote moderated or unmoderated qualitative and quantitative research studies, synthesizing results, and presenting findings for your research projects.

Research Operations Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate end-to-end user engagement and recruitment process for UX research team.
- Manage research team calendar and track in-flight work
- Lead longitudinal customer surveys assessing user satisfaction with new product releases,and report findings to key stakeholders
- Manage team software licenses and budgeting
- Help develop and maintain team research repository and reference materials. Perform periodic QA of research documentation.
- Share research expertise and knowledge with others, and encourage the wider team to actively participate in UX research

UX Researcher Responsibilities**
- Plan and execute user research in an agile development process using both qualitative and quantitative methods and analysis
- Lead UX research throughout the design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validation
- Use a wide range of research methods, including ethnography/field research, participatory design, journey mapping, interviews, concept testing, surveys, diary studies, usability studies
- Collaborate with broader departments including product managers, designers, engineering, documentation and analytics to create research proposals through understanding the business needs, research goals and target customers
- Identify and prioritize actionable results based on research. Communicate research findings and ensure the insights are translated into actionable direction through presentations, posters, graphics, displays, workshops, wireframes, etc.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the area of Cognitive, Behavioral, Experimental or Industrial Psychology, Human Factors, or Human-Computer Interaction and/or comparable certifications and experience
- Proficiency with a breadth of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and ability to come up with creative research solutions as needed
- Experience conducting participant screening, recruitment, and management
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to act as the voice of the user
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Fluency in user-centered design best practices, as well as knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Expertise with data analysis and how to meaningfully convey research findings/insights into actionable recommendations and visualizations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; experience working in a collaborative environment
- Strong track record of research results impacting product strategy and development
