Anna de Sommer Champalimaud e Dr. Carlos Montez Champalimaud), a private, non-profit research institution in Lisbon, Portugal, is looking for a Lab Manager to join our team at the Champalimaud Research Program. Our lab aims to understand tissue-specific mechanisms that regulate breast cancer dormancy, and find ways to effectively target dormant cancer cells and prevent metastatic disease. The position offers excellent opportunities for operational management and technical and scientific responsibilities. It is suited for a very organised and dedicated individual, with a positive can-do attitude, and enthusiastic to assist the team with day-to-day operations. **Responsibilities**: - General laboratory management (orders, stocks, databases, etc); - Aid in preparation of animal protocols, responsible for management and oversight of lab’s animal colonies; - Management and coordination of clinical sample processing pipeline; - Work with other lab members on collaborative projects. Specific Requirements Preferred Qualifications - 1 or more years of research experience in immunology or cancer biology; - Experience in lab management; - Experience working with mouse models (FELASA-equivalent license) and clinical samples; - Strong spoken and written competency in English. Working competence in Portuguese is a positive asset, or the willingness to learn.
