Industrial company with a unit in Lousada is recruiting a Financial Controller (M/F/d).
Your new role
**Portugal**:
Provide support & leadership to the Portugal business
Coordination of the month-end processes including preparation of the monthly management accounts
Proactively improve our inventory and manufacturing process reporting to assist in driving improved margins and product profitability
Prepare and process accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register & depreciation
Responsible for maintaining/reviewing all monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare / approve all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Manage Portugal year-end and audit process and accounts preparation
Ensure Portugal tax compliance
Approval of Portugal payroll, bank payments etc.
Work with operations to prepare Portugal budget and monthly forecasts
Cashflow reconciliation, analysis, and forecasting
Other ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
**Germany**:
Preparation of management and statutory accounts, same as for Portugal
Prepare / review all balance sheet reconciliations, payments etc.
Manage local German bookkeeper
Liaise with local advisers on payroll, tax, VAT compliance etc.
Oversee credit control for all European customers (primarily Germany & France)
Cashflow reconciliation, analysis, and forecasting
Other ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
IT Systems
Work closely with Group IT Manager on local IT projects
Optimisation of Sage X3 processes & reporting - reviewing the existing internal control environment to identify weaknesses and develop effective procedures and controls.
Implementation of Manufacturing module in Sage X3
Perform the role of one of the Sage X3 Points of Contact for the business
Support the CFO and Group Head of Finance in analysing and recommending other tools / systems as required
What you'll need to succeed
Degree qualified
Qualified accountant
At least three years’ experience in industry in a similar role
Experience with manufacturing and inventory is preferred
Confident working in a fast paced, global environment
Leads with a ‘can do’ approach
Excellent communicator - fluent in both Portuguese and English
German language would be an advantage
Strong technical accounting and IT skills
Experience working on SAGE X3 would be an advantage
