Product Owner

We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Monetization League within the Products & Technology Department. The Product Owner will support driving the strategic product objectives, in line with the league’s vision and mission. If you are driven by being a liaison between business and technology and are able to translate the high level business needs into product backlog items, this might be something for you Previous experience within the Adtech industry and some exposure to sports betting or sports media publishing would help you succeed in this role from day 1.

The vision of the Monetization League is to continue our journey towards richer content and more engaging user experiences for all of our 100 mil + monthly sports fans visitors. When building such content, returning users can be monetized through highly relevant contextual advertising - leveraging data points, such as upcoming odds, historic trends to support a potential outcome ect.

Our mission is to build a scalable AdTech infrastructure, leveraging rich-media creatives and sports and odds data over owned and bought inventory to drive premium CPM deals to our sports betting clients.

THE PRODUCT
The product you will be leading is already at MVP level and will become part of Better Collective’s Advertising Platform. This product is focused on contextual targeting of data heavy, rich-media ads with sports and sports betting content.
The mission of this league will be to integrate the product in the Advertising Platform, shifting from a simple direct integration on media pages towards monetization as CPM and CPE, expand the ads catalog with more rich-media experiences, and to expand the product line outside the sports betting ecosystem.

**THE ROLE**
As our Product Owner you will be part of the squad, responsible for both defining and prioritizing the team backlog within each sprint. You will attend the most relevant product management meetings as a key stakeholder, planning the backlog/vision refinement sessions with the purpose of pointing the scrum team into the right direction of the product development.

To be successful in this role, we expect that you will propose innovative ideas and efficient solutions aligned with the league’s vision and mission, and prioritizing delivery of items from the product backlog. It is also expected that you can define requirements for items in our backlog and conduct research and brainstorming for ideas. Lastly, as a highly data-driven company, you will also be responsible for measuring the product’s performance in relation with business development and find opportunities to increase the value provided to our customers and end users.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the product backlog for one or more product lines: contextually targeted, rich-media display advertising for sports betting and iGaming
- Output requirements documentation with: requirements, POC / MVP, FS/NFS acceptance criteria, wireframes, diagrams, according the need
- Propose solutions to existing challenges or find opportunities that are in line with Monetization league vision. Research integration with other tools or systems and propose functional/non-functional requirements.
- Align and validate requirements with all relevant stakeholders
- Work with the Technical project manager / Scrummaster to help team members prioritize between backlog items
- Take part in the league’s product governance to communicate & present the product development, roadmap, issues & risks to management
- Coordinate and present sprint goals and release goals.
- Be present at daily stand up’s
- Help communicate business value & user needs to team members
- Coordinate product dependencies with other product owners
- Sprint plan acceptance after inputs from stakeholders and team members)
- Ongoing user story elaboration. While any team member can write user stories, and acceptance criteria, you have the primary responsibility to keep the process flowing, elaborating as well on user stories and being responsible for writing/defining acceptance criteria
