R&d Tech Lead

As an R&D Tech Lead, you will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on strategic and complex technical initiatives. You should be able to analyse, propose and develop technical solutions, and to suggest strategies to unlock your team’s challenges, ensuring that their efforts are always on track with the target objectives. Your technical expertise should be in backend software development, ideally having cellular telecommunications knowledge.
As a senior professional you should be comfortable presenting technical ideas to a wide range of audience, from business to technical professionals. Active listening skills, humility, and ability to reach consensus among experts (while pushing knowledge bubble’ boundaries) are key features. Finally, you should excel in technical writing, clearly describing problems, prior/competitor solutions, concepts, new solutions and architectural visions that clearly convey your ideas.

**What you will do**:

- Technically lead R&D projects and innovation initiatives end to end, from the requirements elicitation and hypothesis formulation to the solution implementation, testing, assessing, and reporting the results;
- Be the technical lighthouse of your team, with the ability of suggesting solutions to challenges while ensuring that their effort is aligned with the intended goals;
- Interact with internal and external technical professionals targeting the co-creation and integration of innovative solutions;
- Represent Truphone in R&D and innovation networking events, presenting your team’s technical solutions;
- Write technical documentation for reporting projects status, contribute to conceiving novel projects and for dissemination, protection, standardization and exploitation of R&D project results.

**What you will bring**:

- MSc or PhD in areas that relate with Software Development and/or Telecommunications;
- Experience in technically leading applied R&D (industry) or strategic multidisciplinary projects in areas that relate with Telecommunications and/or Software Development;
- Experience in backend software development (Java or Go); REST APIs and Pub/Sub messaging; relational databases, CI/CD flows, Git, and Docker;
- Demonstrable technical writing skills (e.g. white papers, public reports, scientific papers);
- Experience with R&D funding frameworks (e.g. implementation of funded R&D projects; contribution to funded R&D proposals);
- Excellent communication skills (fluent in English, both written and spoken), with public speaking experience (e.g. conference or workshop presentations).
