There is an open call for one (1) Research Initiation Grant (“Bolsa de Iniciação à Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of project QSNP. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the project "Quantum Security Networks Partnership" (QSNP, grant agreement No 101114043). - **Scientific Area**: Optics and Photonics - **Group**: Optical Quantum Communications - Av - **Admission Requirements**: Research Initiation Grants (BII) are intended: - for students enrolled in a professional higher technical course, undergraduate degree, integrated master's degree or master's degree, to undertake initial R&D activities, with a view to beginning their scientific training through integration in R&D projects to be developed in national institutions. - for students carrying out initial R&D activities who are enrolled in non-degree courses integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units. - **Work Objectives**: Participate on the characterization and implementation of a entangled photon source and a heralded single photon source. - **Applicable legislation**: - **Place of work**: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at Aveiro, under the supervision of Dr. Armando Humberto Moreira Nolasco Pinto. - **Duration**: 8 months, with the possibility of renewal. This type of scholarship has a maximum duration of 1 year.
