Accounting Manager responsible for preparing financial reports and documents, maintaining records, reviewing potential finances, compiling reports, and providing professional opinions in regards to the fiscal decisions of the School.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts;

Arrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting;

Preparing accounts and tax returns;

Compiling and presenting financial and budget reports;

Ensure that financial statements and records comply with laws and regulations;

Keeping account books and systems up to date;

Manage all accounting operations, including Billing;

Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements;

Research technical accounting issues for compliance;

Support month-end and close year-end process;Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;

Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings;

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;

Work closely with the DFO on the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances;

Create various reports for the DFO;

Other various administrative tasks;

Assist the DFO directly in creating and analyzing together new financial strategies and operations;

Advising on how to reduce costs and increase profits.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
Advanced degree in Accounting with Portuguese Certification has TOC (Técnico Oficial de Contas);

10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience;

Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager;

Oral and written fluency in English and Portuguese;

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;

Experience with creating financial statements;

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process;

Excellent accounting software user skills - PRIMAVERA BSS;

Team Management expertise;

Working knowledge of accounting standards and relevant legal regulations;

Being able to work independently and as part of a team;

Strong communication, organizational and time-management skills;

Ability to work efficiently under pressure;

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365;

Excellent administrative skills with a close attention to detail;

Data-driven mindset.
