This position offers the opportunity to influence architectural decisions, guide technical direction, and drive high-impact solutions used by millions. You’ll work in a remote, distributed team environment that values ownership, scalability, and clean engineering practices. It’s an excellent chance to grow as a technical leader while working with modern backend, cloud, and infrastructure technologies.WHAT YOU WILL DO- Design and develop scalable microservices using Kotlin for Backend-for-Frontends (BFF);- Take ownership of infrastructure provisioning using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code);- Migrate data and logic from a legacy PHP monolith to Cloud SQL/Spanner;- Collaborate with mobile engineers to define API schemas and requirements;- Ensure high performance and reliability of services deployed to Cloud Run/GKE;- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.MUST HAVES- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field;- 5+ years of backend software development experience;- Strong proficiency in Kotlin (server-side);- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery);- Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools;- Solid understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems;- Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases;- Upper-intermediate English level.NICE TO HAVES- Experience with Go;- Ability to read/understand PHP;- Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers;- Experience with Event-Driven Architecture.PERKS AND BENEFITS- Professional growth: Mentorship, TechTalks, and personalized growth roadmaps.- Competitive compensation: USD-based pay with education, fitness, and team activity budgets.- Exciting projects: Modern solutions with Fortune 500 and top product companies.- Flextime: Flexible schedule with remote and office options.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; 8+ years of backend experience with significant leadership responsibilities; Expert-level knowledge of Go and Kotlin; Deep expertise in GCP architecture, including networking, security, and scaling strategies; Proven track record of decomposing monoliths into microservices in a high-traffic environment; Strong DevOps mindset; expert in Terraform and CI/CD concepts; Ability to translate high-level business requirements into technical roadmaps; Upper-intermediate English level.
