Role Responsibilities will include
:


• Lead the Finance Team in Porto to support regional growth and act as the main finance contact for the Portuguese branch, collaborating with local stakeholders and government bodies


• Oversee month-end close, preparation of monthly management accounts, and assist with group consolidation


• Provide oversight of the global Accounts Payable function with support of the AP Specialist and broader team


• Manage the accounting system for the Portuguese branch, including supplier management, invoicing, and bank reconciliation


• Deliver financial reporting, forecasting, and commercial insights to drive regional performance and assist in group financial planning


• Ensure compliance with local financial and statutory legislation, including audit preparations and government submissions


• Drive financial performance optimization and control spending through cashflow forecasting and process improvements


• Mentor junior team members and operate effectively within a global finance team

Essential Criteria


• Must be a Certified Accountant with at least five years' relevant experience and fluent in English


• Strong knowledge of accounting best practices, processes, and tools, with high competency in Microsoft Office


• Required attributes include autonomy, accountability, analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and teamwork

Desirable Criteria


• Experience in liaising with Portuguese Government Agencies is desirable


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations


• Previous oversight experience of the Accounts Payable remit


• Experience managing and/or mentoring a team of accounting professionals
