AI Tech Lead

— a former
Data Scientist or AI Engineer

ready to take the next step into
project and technical leadership

Have you led or coordinated AI projects, guiding teams from concept to production?

Are you comfortable bridging the gap between technical excellence and business value?

Do you enjoy mentoring, managing priorities, and ensuring successful project delivery?

Your Responsibilities


Project Leadership

– Lead end-to-end AI projects: from ideation and feasibility analysis to deployment and monitoring.


Technical Guidance

– Mentor and guide Data Scientists and Engineers, ensuring best practices in model design, coding, and experimentation.


Architecture & Strategy

– Define architectures, pipelines, and MLOps workflows that scale efficiently.


Business Alignment

– Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into AI-driven solutions.


Quality & Delivery

– Manage project timelines, resources, and risks to ensure reliable delivery and measurable business outcomes.


Innovation & Research

– Stay ahead of emerging AI trends (GenAI, Computer Vision, Recommender Systems, Optimization) and integrate them into NILG.AI's solutions.


Culture & Mentorship

– Foster a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.

What We're Looking For


Minimum of 3 years of experience

in
Data Science / AI Engineering

, including model development and deployment —
ideally 5+ years

.

Solid expertise in
Machine Learning

,
Deep Learning

, and at least one of the following areas:


•
Generative AI / LLMs


•
Computer Vision


•
Recommender Systems


•
Combinatorial Optimization

Strong programming skills in
Python

and familiarity with frameworks like
PyTorch

,
TensorFlow

, or
Hugging Face

.

Proven experience in
consulting or client-facing AI projects

, with ability to understand business needs and deliver actionable AI solutions.

Experience leading technical projects or teams — formally or informally.

Understanding of
project management practices

(Agile, Scrum, Kanban).

Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Fluency in
English

(spoken and written).

Fluency in
Portuguese

(spoken and written).

Availability to work in a
hybrid model

(Portugal-based).

Nice to Have

Knowledge of data governance, model monitoring, and AI ethics.

Experience leading distributed or remote teams.

Publications or open-source contributions in AI.
