OCEANSCAN-MST

is seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Robotics Technician to join our operations team. You will be the crucial link between our innovative designs and successful real-world missions, responsible for the preparation, configuration, and field testing of our Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (LAUVs). If you are detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and ready for a hands-on role that takes you from the workshop to the water, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do (Your Core Responsibilities):

  • Software Configuration:

Install and configure the onboard vehicle software using our established tools and procedures, including command-line operations and running deployment scripts.
- System Testing:

Execute detailed test plans in both lab and field environments to verify system functionality, identify bugs, and ensure the reliability of our vehicles.
- Field Operations:

Actively participate in at-sea missions, including vehicle deployment, mission monitoring, and recovery.
- Troubleshooting:

Be the first responder for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, whether they are related to software, or networking.

Who We're Looking For (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Hands-On Aptitude

: Proven experience with assembling, wiring, or troubleshooting electronic or mechanical systems. You are comfortable with tools and technology.
- Linux Proficiency

: Comfortable working in a Linux environment, particularly with navigating the file system and running commands from the terminal.
- Detail-Oriented:

You are meticulous when following checklists, executing test procedures, and documenting your work.
- Good Communicator

: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have Skills):

  • Experience working with marine technology, ROVs, AUVs, or other robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with software deployment tools like Git and Docker.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking principles (IP addressing, TCP/UDP).
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) for automating tasks or running diagnostics.
