Job Description Summary

The Manager, Planning & Logistics leads capacity, resource, and logistics planning for the division, owning the budget and performance of a medium-sized team. The role drives planning accuracy, operational efficiency, process excellence, and stakeholder communication, with high autonomy and regular exposure to complex decisions that shape the division's mid-to-long-term strategy.

Common Accountabilities

  • People & Performance Leadership: Own the budget, performance and results of a medium-sized team (or multiple teams). Define concrete development plans and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Strategic Impact: Develop a mid/long-term vision for the activity; influence department strategy based on a broad understanding of the environment and business priorities.
  • Autonomous Execution: Operate with high autonomy based on management directions; escalate only when necessary; navigate complex decision-making contexts.

Capacity & Resource Planning, Follow-up & Reporting

  • Budget Ownership: Collect and consolidate inputs/assumptions to build the annual budget; monitor and track all budget evolutions.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular management reports and dashboards (revenue, cost, resource consumption, utilization, forecast vs. actuals).
  • Logistics Planning: Align demand and supply plans, define stock policies and replenishment parameters, and coordinate with procurement/warehousing/transport for service levels and cost optimization.

Process & Performance Improvement

  • Process Mapping: Map and formalize processes aligned to specific objectives or activities across the division.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify best practices and propose improvements, tools, and techniques to increase process efficiency and performance; drive execution of CI roadmaps (Lean/Six Sigma practices where applicable).
  • Quality & Compliance: Prepare and support the division for internal and external quality audits; ensure documentation, SOPs, and controls are up to date.

Management Support

  • Executive Materials: Prepare presentations and narratives for division management (strategy, activity overviews, key figures, risks, project progress).
  • Capability Building: Develop and maintain the division's training program in partnership with the training department.

Projects (Division-Specific & Transversal)

  • Project Leadership: Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects (e.g., S&OP maturation, ERP/WMS enhancements, network changes, efficiency programs).
  • Change Management: Drive adoption of new processes/tools, ensuring stakeholder alignment and effective handover to operations.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field; Master's is a plus.
  • 7+ years in Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations roles, with 3+ years managing teams.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, capacity/resource planning, and KPI-driven performance management.
  • Exposure to complex decision-making and cross-functional environments.

Skills & Competencies

  • Planning & Analytics
  • Systems: Solid knowledge of ERP/MRP (e.g., SAP and/or Oracle)
  • Continuous Improvement: Process mapping, root cause analysis, and operational excellence (Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus).
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and influence skills across operations, finance, procurement, sales, and leadership.
