The Opportunity – Research and Innovation Management Specialist (Full-time, hybrid)

About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic Innovation Management professional to join our team and help creating a Smart Energy Future. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, innovation and information management. We are looking for someone with initiative who can think holistically, communicate effectively with colleagues and partners, and ensure the systematic organization, development, and execution of the innovation initiatives.

You will support the operation and continuous improvement of the organisation's Innovation Management System and contributes to the preparation of proposals and implementation of Research and Innovation projects, including innovation, exploitation, and impact activities.

You will have a high level of autonomy and freedom to shape your role and direction, and be involved in an international, collaborative, mission-driven environment where your voice matters.

What Skills and Qualifications you should have:

• Experience with R&D and Innovation funding programs and processes (e.g., Horizon Europe, INTERREG, Portugal 2020/2030, etc)
• Experience with Innovation Management Systems methodologies and practices (e.g., ISO 56002)

• (Preferential) Knowledge of Energy and Environment industries

• Degree in Engineering, Management or Economy

• Final academic grade of at least 14/20
• Fluent in English
  (C1 level minimum)
• Strong skills with Windows Office tools (other business analytics tools – preferential)
• Comfortable working across disciplines—science, software/digital tools, and business.

What are your Key Responsibilities:

• Innovation Funding

• Identification of R&D and Innovation funding opportunities nationally and internationally

• Support in the application to R&D and Innovation funding opportunities

• Support in projects reporting

• Maintaining of innovation network of partners for joint funding applications and projects

• Innovation Management

• Monitoring of national and international standards and update of internal procedures

• Maintain and update the existing Innovation Management System, ensuring its adequacy to the organization needs

• Ensuring of adequate implementation of Innovation Management System processes, such as Management of Interfaces, Management of Knowledge, Management of Ideas or Management of Projects

• Creation and maintenance of internal tools to manage R&D and Innovation processes

• Planning and leading R&D and Innovation Management System and ISO audits and implementation of relevant recommendations

• Maintaining of inventory of innovation assets created in the organization (e.g., software, tools) and evaluate its reuse and monetization

• Representation, participation and contact point of the organization in national and international events/fora related to R&D and Innovation (such as Innovation Agencies and Associations, National Contact Points, European Commission and other international agencies)
• Reporting on the organization R&D and Innovation activities, projects, international fora participation, and initiatives, for internal use or external entities
• Management of inventory, usage and interaction with vendors related to software and other tools acquired and used in the organization for innovation activities and projects
• Management of Intellectual Property
• Participation in R&D and Innovation proposals and projects in transversal topics, such as analysis of legislation, state of the art, data analysis, business plans, dissemination and exploitation or standardization
• Proactively propose improvements in the organization regarding R&D and Innovation Management.
