The Constellation Automotive Group is the largest vertically integrated digital car marketplace in Europe, combining the leading digital brands across the segments of Consumer to Business (C2B), Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C). Across our digital platforms we exceed £20billion of Gross Merchandises Value ('GMV') on an annual basis. This includes market leading brands such as BCA, We Buy Any Car, cinch, and Marshall.
The Constellation Technology Team provides a group-wide set of Technology Products and Services across the Constellation Automotive Group.
Role Accountabilities:
- Guiding a team of talented engineers with a mix of encouragement, innovation, and collaboration. You're not just overseeing; you're inspiring a team of passionate people, fostering a space where future leaders are molded.
- Ensuring continuous delivery of value to users through efficient development practices and well-coordinated releases.
- Collaborating closely with Design and Product teams to implement visually compelling and intuitive interfaces.
- Aligning the team's work with the product vision and strategic goals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Handling line management duties, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations by settingclear goals and expectations.
- Driving improvements of engineering practices within the team to enhance efficiency, code quality, and user experience. Ensure code quality and maintainability by conducting code reviews, writing tests,and documenting work.
- Staying abreast of the latest development trends and best practices and providing technical leadership to the team.
Knowledge:
- Has a proven track record in web/mobile application development, cloud solutions, and understands the nuances of service-oriented and event-driven architectures.
- Strong proficiency in AWS, Serverless, TypeScript, , React and React Native or similar platforms/paradigms/ languages/frameworks.
- Demonstrable DevOps mindset having taken accountability for the entire lifecycle of a product.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with various forms of automated testing, coupled with a strong understanding of TDD/BDD concepts.
- Experience in people management, including hiring, training,and performance management.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Capable problem-solver with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders and to communicate technical information clearly.
