Junior-Mid Backend Developer (Porto)

As a Junior-Mid Backend Developer, you will transition from executing defined tasks to taking ownership of sub-modules and feature sets. You will work closely with Senior Architects to implement scalable APIs and ensure our data flows seamlessly and securely.

Key Responsibilities

  • API Development: Design, build, and maintain robust RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core.
  • Database Management: Write optimized queries and manage data schemas using SQL Server and Entity Framework Core.
  • Architecture & Quality: Participate in transitioning legacy systems toward Clean Architecture and Microservices.
  • Collaboration: Work with Frontend teams to define API contracts and with DevOps to streamline CI/CD pipelines.
  • Code Quality: Contribute to code reviews and maintain 80%+ test coverage using xUnit or NUnit.

What We're Looking For

  • Proficiency in C#: Strong understanding of .NET 6/7/8+ and asynchronous programming.
  • Database Skills: Hands-on experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL and EF Core.
  • Testing Mindset: Familiarity with Unit and Integration testing.
  • Version Control: Comfortable with Git workflows (branching, PRs, merging).
  • Growth Mindset: A proactive attitude toward learning cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) and design patterns.

Nice to Have

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
