We're hiring an experienced
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Engineer
to join our team in Porto. You'll manage, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers, storage systems, and VMware environments — all while using automation to make processes seamless and efficient.
What do you need to be a SMART Linux Engineer?
- 5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration (Red Hat preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Linux clustering
- Strong knowledge of automation tools and processes
- Experience managing VMware servers
- Experience managing Storage Servers and SAN switches
- Solid understanding of infrastructure services and networking topologies
- Skilled in troubleshooting and optimizing Linux environments
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Self-driven, motivated, and a collaborative team player
- Ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly
What will your role at SMART be?
- Manage, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Linux servers in stand-alone or clustered environments
- Ensure that all changes on Linux servers are properly managed through automation
- Apply and enforce security policies and compliance rules across the infrastructure
- Manage, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Storage Servers, SAN switches, and VMware servers
- Collaborate with other teams to implement business requirements and ensure proper network connectivity
- Monitor server availability, performance, and security to meet business needs
Nice to Have
- Experience with advanced automation frameworks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
- Previous involvement with high-availability Linux clusters
- Knowledge of cloud platforms or hybrid environments
