About The Campus App

The Campus App is building the digital home for university life. We are creating a platform that brings together students, societies, wellbeing, careers, and community in one place. The product is already live, used by real students, and growing through university partnerships.

We are now looking for a
Founding Engineer
to join us at a defining moment and help shape the future of the platform from the inside.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to join a company at a true founding stage and take ownership of the technology, the product, and the direction it grows in.

From day one, you will be trusted with real responsibility. You will work directly with the founder, lead technical decisions, and help turn an already-live product into a scalable platform used by students across universities.

As the company grows, your role grows with it. This position is designed to develop into
CTO-level responsibility over time
, with the scope, influence, and equity that comes with building something from the ground up.

This position is for you if you:

  • Care about deeply understanding the problem, domain, and users before jumping to solutions
  • Can translate business goals, constraints, and real-world context into clear technical decisions
  • Enjoy working in ambiguity and are happy figuring things out as you go
  • Know how to balance speed, quality, and long-term thinking when making trade-offs
  • Use AI as a practical tool to move faster, while still relying on strong engineering judgement
  • Have strong opinions, take initiative, and are open to changing your mind
  • Understand the student or university ecosystem, or are excited to immerse yourself in it
  • Want meaningful ownership, responsibility, and impact

You will start by owning the technical execution of the product. As the platform scales, you will naturally take on broader responsibility across architecture, strategy, and team leadership.

Over time, this role evolves into
leading the engineering function
, shaping how the team is built, how decisions are made, and how the technology supports the company's long-term vision.
