The Work You'll Do
We're expanding our technical writing team and are looking for a writer who can be deeply technical while putting themselves into the mind of the customer.

We're especially excited to connect with candidates who demonstrate a strong interest in artificial intelligence and its impact on documentation. At Sovos, we are pioneering AI-first documentation processes to ensure our content is innovative, efficient, and tailored to evolving user needs.

As a technical writer, you'll help to build exceptional software experiences through user-centered content creation.

The ideal candidate will bring passion, creativity, and drive to a thriving content development team that values teamwork, collaboration, technical prowess, and attention to detail.

What are my responsibilities going to be, more specifically?

• Leverage AI tools to generate high-quality content, accelerating the creation and refinement of documentation
• Utilize artificial intelligence to conduct product research, identify knowledge gaps, and surface insights that inform content strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement AI-driven solutions that enhance the overall documentation lifecycle
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for a wide audience, including end users, partners, administrators, and developers
• Adhere to documentation plans and schedules
• Maintain consistency in tone and style
• Update existing documentation, including release notes, installation guides, administration guides, developer guides, API reference guides, and use cases
• Resolve reported documentation issues
• Achieve and maintain relevant product knowledge
• Create and publish release notes for several distinct software development teams, translating technical updates into outcome-focused announcements
• Ensure that all user-facing content is aligned with our global tone and voice
• Collaborate with Support, Product, and other client-facing teams to ensure users are informed of outages, regulatory updates, and any other information that may impact the users' success in using our software

What We Need From You

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, or a related field, OR equivalent experience working in a technical writing position, OR equivalent experience in a software development field
• 6+ years' experience working as a technical writer
• Experience with structured authoring, DITA, or minimalist writing
• Experience creating training guides or help documentation for software users
• Experience editing content to make it more accessible and easier to understand
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
• Ability to produce quality content within a tight deadline
• Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize deliverables for multiple stakeholders
• Ability and initiative to learn new tools and technologies as required, including effective troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal English-language communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, with an eye for improving existing work
• Self-starter, independent, fast learner, can-do attitude, and great interpersonal skills
