TECHNICAL LEAD (HYBRID)

Location: Porto, Portugal

Candidates for the vacancy must already be in Portugal

Working Model: 2–3 days per week at the client's office in the Porto area (Portugal).

Language Requirements: Fluency in English and portuguese (B2/C1 - mandatory)

We are looking for a Tech Lead with strong expertise in Java and a passion for leading high-performing development teams. In this role, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence, mentoring developers, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-quality engineering culture.
  • Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing systems.
  • Design and implement new features and enhancements aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensure code quality and best practices through clean, efficient, and maintainable coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years in software development.
  • At least 3 years in a technical leadership position.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Java (6+ years) and Spring Boot.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns.

Languages (mandatory)

  • Portuguese: B2/C1 (oral, written, and comprehension).
  • English: B2/C1 (oral, written, and comprehension).
Nice to Have
  • Methodologies: Experience with Agile development and project management practices.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with Jenkins, Git, SonarQube, and Maven (3+ years).
  • Databases: Strong experience with SQL and Elasticsearch.
  • Messaging Systems: Knowledge of Kafka or similar message brokers.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
  • Testing: Proficiency with JUnit, TestContainers, and other unit testing frameworks.
  • Security: Understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and secure API development practices.
  • Healthcare Integration: Familiarity with HL7 standards (e.g., HL7 v2, HL7 FHIR) for healthcare system interoperability and data exchange.
