This role is part of a significant investment in strengthen the Decision Intelligence capability in the EU business, through a continuous development and maintenance of the Data Warehouse, expanding our use of Data Science & Machine learning solutions, developing new dashboards and fostering the adoption of these tools by the business users, promoting efficiencies and generating added value.

The Power BI Engineer will be part of a team responsible for designing reports & data models in collaboration with the Analysis and Insights team, configuring and managing them. The main duty of Power BI developers is to convert raw data into meaningful analysis with the help of interactive, easy-to-understand dashboards and reports. These products are critical to supply timely management information, both to our external customers and our users throughout BCA EU, empowering the business to make the right decisions at the right time.

The position offers a great opportunity for a PowerBI Reporting Developer to learn new technical skills within the ever-growing Azure Cloud Resource environment, expand their business knowledge, put their own stamp on solutions and grow as the team expands.

Role Accountabilities:

• Develop quality report and dashboard products to a high standard, within time and budget
• Ensure the high availability of our Reporting systems using fast remediation where needed by proactively monitoring alerts and logs
• Work in collaboration with the EU Analysis and Insights team to understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications
• Create data models within Power BI capacity with the business requirements identified, promoting a "single version of the truth" across the EU
• Build automated reports and dashboards with the help of Power BI and other reporting tools
• Achieve a balance between the foundational work that needs to be done and the quick-wins for business decision making, being able to quickly shape data into reporting and analytics solutions
• Constitute the relevant documentation associated to the data models and reports constituted
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in the use of data and reporting methods. Responsibility for training other individuals as required

Knowledge and Experience:

• Expert level DAX scripting, tuning and troubleshooting, and an understanding of XMLA and tools to enhance performance of a Data model (such as Tabular, DAX Studio Etc)
• Experience with Power BI Services and Premium Capacity
• Paginated Reports - experience designing and deploying reports using Report Builder
• Understanding of Powershell
• Version Control - using tools such as Git for managing report versions
• Create SQL views and functions to a high standard – Excellent T-SQL skills (efficient querying, joins, ETL, Views and data manipulation); Databricks - working with notebooks, and integrating with Power BI
• Experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects
• Experience with Power Automate
• Must have experience in Data Warehousing techniques, Kimball Methodology and cloud technologies
• Have knowledge of database fundamentals such as multidimensional database design, relational database design, and more
• A good understanding of cloud based technologies (Sharepoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power BI Service, Databricks and Azure)
• Able to get up to speed quickly in understanding of the business metadata
• To question the status quo and suggest possible improvements in the processes (harnessing automation where possible)
• Take ownership of all these responsibilities and manage them autonomously
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment – having a full understanding of development lifecycle through use of DevOps
• Ability to pick up new skills very quickly
• Ability to communicate technical terms/processes to non-technical staff in a meaningful way
