Volkswagen Financial Services is the largest provider of automotive financial services worldwide. What do we do? The P orto A pplication C enter is a VWFS AG IT hub, and the first outside Germany. Here we will establish a long-term Business & IT company of 120+ FTE. Our primary goal is to service all European markets in implementing and maintaining contract management systems. Our focus is on: Core systems, satellite systems (such as document management systems, collection systems) but also extends to integrations, data, and large project organizations. For this we seek a hands-on Solution Architect. Objectives: Ensure that application architectures including all subcomponents are defined and described in a clear and understandable way. We are starting this journey now; You will start by training and alignment with our Enterprise architects and establish a network with other solution architects in Europe. You will dive into complex topics within our application landscape to ensure we adhere to standards and at the same time achieve our business goals. About you: We are looking for an enthusiastic personality who loves working with complex structures and architecture and someone who understands all application layers (functional and technical) and is able to put this in clear diagrams and can also ensure the architecture decided upon is checked on quality. In this role, you will be responsible for: You are quick in creating clear and structured diagrams (Visio, draw.io) and integrating it into Jira and Confluence documentation Keep application data quality in our application central repository up to date. Work collaboratively with Enterprise Architects and others Solutions Architect to define the future of our applications landscape. Define network concept document, following our internal guidelines for network communication. Support projects and team members during environment setup, in tasks such as: DNS definition, firewall design in a way to ensure that all components are protected and isolated to avoid unnecessary connection between components Design solutions in accordance with the strict Financial Market's compliance requirements and demands. (GDPR, DORA) Bear in mind the ITIL process when designing solutions, by already preparing the needed workflow ITSM tool experience/understanding Good head for multiple hats Skilled at independent work You are working in an enterprise environment. As a team member, you will support our markets by reducing complexity by developing effective solutions for our business. Advising and presenting to IT management as well as projects/product teams regarding improvements within the set of strategic goals works closely together with the business analysts, information analysts, product owners, key users, the IT infrastructure architect (DS-IT), developers, Vendors, application managers, security and has a strong say in proposed Application solutions or has them tested by the architecture board Ensures good cooperation with the other teams Ensuring that standardization is a priority and delivers measurable results We believe that the right profile for this job should have / be: University degree in business informatics or comparable degree Working experience in large complex enterprise environments including cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) Ability to design resilient solutions and produce well-structured documentation Experience in Power Platform Experience in Co-Pilot (nice to have) Experience in APM monitoring tools (like Dynatrace, Application Insight, Datadog Familiarity with several IT field concepts, procedures, and practices (ITIL, Service management, IT service management tools) Experience working in multicultural environments Experience designing solutions which incorporate enterprise grade secrets vaults (CyberArk, Hashicorp Vault, Azure Key vault, or similar) SDLC experience in mind Git as collaborative first-point for software development CI/CD mindset API First approach Experience work in agile teams Possess knowledge of architectural concepts and standards and provide guidance to teams on the most effective approach to take based on the problem to be solved. Proactively advise and support team members in selecting optimal solutions tailored to specific challenges, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational goals. Ability to plan and successfully accomplish company's goals Good communication skills, high level of self-responsibility, self-initiative and the ability to interact efficiently. Results-oriented and with team-player attitude. Strong analytical and structural competence and ability to organize him-/herself independently. Speaks & writes English fluently.
