We are looking for a Junior / Mid Backend Software Engineer (Workflow & Automation) to join our Client's team on a hybrid working model. Work Model: Professionals living up to 70 km from the Lisbon office: 2 days per WEEK on-site Professionals living more than 70 km from the Lisbon office: 2 days per MONTH on-site Key Responsibilities: Work closely with architects and systems analysts to understand software requirements and participate in solution design Design and develop new features and improvements focused on automation, workflows, and AI-related projects Use low-code platforms to build automation modules and develop Java-based or PHP-based components Develop and integrate backend solutions following best practices Organize, prioritize, and manage development tasks effectively Contribute to the technical growth and evolution of junior team members Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives Required Qualifications: Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field 1–2 years of professional experience in similar software engineering roles Experience in automation-focused projects Experience with RPA / workflow solutions such as Flowable, BPMN, or Camunda Solid understanding of OOP concepts and backend development with Java OR PHP (experience in both is not required)Experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP web services Good understanding of relational databases (MySQL and SQL Server)Experience with Git and Maven Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Team spirit, initiative, and good communication skills Experience working with Agile methodologies Good spoken and written Portuguese and English Why Join Us?Contract type: Indefinite / Employment OR B2B, based on your preference Health Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for your well-being Hybrid Work Model: Flexible on-site presence adapted to your location Continuous Learning: Access to a Udemy Business subscription with thousands of workshops and courses Team Culture: Collaborative, innovative, and people-first work environment Career Growth: Clear career progression and exposure to challenging, future-oriented projects If you meet the above criteria and are ready for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic environment, submit your CV
