THE ROLE

As Indie Campers’ SEO International Lead and reporting directly to the Director of Acquisition, you will be joining our Marketing team in our Lisbon HQ to lead the SEO strategy and execution, maximising its business impact, at a global level. Within this role you’ll lead a team of SEO executives who will support you on delivering all global SEO-related workstreams. You’ll also be involved in the wider Marketing operation as a leading contributor to its overall success.

Together with the rest of the Marketing team, Customer Excellence, and Operations, your ultimate goal is to effectively and efficiently grow Indie Campers’ organic search comercial contribution overtime, at a global level, supporting Marketing and the wider business goals of Indie Campers, as we continue our journey to become the Nº 1 road trip provider in the world.

 

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Develop and lead the execution of the global SEO strategy to maximise global organic search visibility, drive traffic, and increase rankings for relevant keywords. Stay updated with the latest SEO trends, algorithm changes and emerging SEO techniques to adapt the strategies accordingly and remain at the forefront of SEO best practices;
  • Lead all keyword research efforts to identify opportunities for targeting high-impact keywords and phrases. Analyze keyword performance and refine targeting based on data-driven insights;
  • Oversee and support on-page optimization workstreams, including metadata optimization, content improvements, URL structures, internal linking, and other technical SEO elements to enhance website performance;
  • Develop and support the execution of the content strategy and optimization, collaborating with copywriters and freelancers to develop SEO-friendly content strategies that align with the organization's objectives. Ensure content is optimized for search engines and user intent;
  • Develop and support the execution of link building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks from authoritative and relevant websites. Engage in outreach efforts to build relationships with industry influencers and secure guest posting opportunities;
  • Utilize SEO tools and web analytics platforms to analyze website performance, identify issues, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) like organic traffic, conversion rates, and bounce rates, amongst others;
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis to understand competitor strategies, identify gaps, and capitalize on opportunities to improve search rankings;
  • Perform regular technical SEO audits to ensure the website is search engine friendly, and troubleshoot any issues that may hinder organic search performance;
  • Generate regular reports on SEO performance, presenting key insights and progress to senior management and stakeholders;
  • Manage the SEO budget effectively, allocating resources to strategies and tools that yield the highest return on investment;
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize SEO campaigns;
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving SEO challenges, both technical and strategic, as they arise;
  • Collaboration: Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and fostering positive working relationships to implement SEO best practices across different departments;
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to changes in search engine algorithms, industry trends, and organizational priorities;
  • Strategic Vision: A strategic mindset to develop long-term SEO plans aligned with overall business objectives;
  • Creativity: Thinking outside the box to develop innovative SEO strategies that differentiate the company from competitors
  • Fluent in English;
  • EU work permit.

  • Presentation Skills: Ability to deliver engaging and persuasive presentations to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Influencing Skills: The capability to influence key decision-makers in implementing SEO recommendations and gaining support for SEO initiatives;
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Crisis Management: The ability to handle and manage SEO crises effectively, such as sudden traffic drops or penalties;
  • Empathy: Understanding and empathizing with the target audience to create content and experiences that resonate with users.
