We offer a comprehensive and expanding array of road trip possibilities: short-term RV rentals, long-term campervan subscriptions, and the possibility of buying one of our vehicles available for sale.

To guarantee the best-in-class performance of all the algorithms and systems  that power Indie’s operations, we must maintain and evolve our platform with strong foundations in security, flexibility, data and A.I..

As a DevOps Data Engineer you are a dedicated and proficient DevOps Engineer with a knack for constructing robust data pipelines, contributing to the seamless operation and advancement of Indie Campers' technical infrastructure. With a solid grounding in both operations and data management, adept at designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure that supports data ingestion, processing, and analytics.

As a fast-growing company, we have a combination of new features to ship along with tech debt to address. We’re improving our backend with newer data-centric pipelines, reliable event-driven services, while keeping thousands of transactions to be delivered reliably. Moreover, we’re creating the most intuitive experience to our customers, partners and team members, with a front-end stack built on React + Next whose modularity is the key for success. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Create, build, improve, and monitor our infrastructure, by implementing new solutions and technologies in a continuous integration;
  • Work with Developers to understand new architectural needs and propose solutions, always taking into consideration the most cost efficient scenario;
  • Make sure our code runs smoothly in the cloud with all the best practices in place in terms of security;
  • Automate as much as possible, using Infrastructure-as-code and GitOps.
  • Be responsible about all things cloud infrastructure at Indie Campers;

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields (mandatory);
  • 3+ years of professional experience;
  • Strong experience with AWS (mandatory) services, namely, EKS, RDS, Cloudfront, EC2, Route53, Lambda, and CodePipeline/Build/Deploy;
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or other container engines; 
  • Experience with monitoring and logging systems like ELK Stack or  AWS CloudWatch Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
  • Experience in setting up data monitoring pipelines with SQL, Tableau, Metabase
  • Experience with PostgreSQL databases with bonus for experience with large-scale data storage like Hadoop and metastores.; 
  • Bonus for experience in large scale online stores, payment systems or financial transactions
  • Knowledge of Python and/or Go languages (Ruby is a plus);
  • Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure-as-code;
  • Knowledge of CI tools and CD pipelines like GitHub Actions, AWS Codepipeline and/or Jenkins
  • Basic understanding of Grafana/Prometheus stack;
  • Autonomous and organized;
  • Team player.

 

This is a hybrid role in Lisbon, Portugal.
