The Team The Kraken Tax team ensures Kraken’s tax compliance in every jurisdiction we operate in. Comprised of tax professionals across the US and Europe, the team combines expertise in tax, technology, and automation, and collaborates with product, finance, legal, and business development functions. The Opportunity We’re hiring a manager to lead the operational backbone of our global tax function. This role sits within Tax Reporting to the Head of Tax and is responsible for ensuring that our tax calculations, data flows, and reporting processes are accurate, scalable, and audit‑ready. Responsibilities Own day‑to‑day and long‑term operational mechanics of the corporate Tax Platform. Develop and operationalize repeatable calculations for FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, and other U.S. international tax and transfer pricing computations. Maintain and improve data pipelines and transformation logic feeding the Tax Provision process. Lead OneSource data mapping, cleansing, and reconciliation workflows. Partner with Accounting, Finance, Data, and Product teams to ensure tax data integrity across all systems. Build SQL/Python automation to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and strengthen internal controls. Serve as operations expert for tax data issues, system flows, and reconciliation anomalies. Manage cross‑functional execution for quarter‑end and year‑end tax processes. Establish controls, documentation, and repeatable processes to support audit and regulatory readiness. Provide mentorship to analysts and foster a culture of operational rigor within the tax team. Qualifications 5+ years in corporate tax operations, tax provision, or international tax analytics. In‑depth knowledge of FDII, GILTI, and Subpart F. Advanced SQL and Python skills for reconciliation, data transformation, and computational modeling. Experience supporting or operating a corporate tax provision process. Familiarity with digital asset cost‑basis, inventory methods, and financial product tax implications. Hands‑on experience with OneSource Tax Provision (data mapping, imports, validations). Ability to translate tax rules into operational logic and scalable processes. Strong cross‑functional communication and comfort working in a fast‑moving environment. Attention to detail balancing accuracy with timely execution. Nice to Have Experience with crypto exchanges or digital asset financial reporting. Conceptual understanding of blockchain data structures. Involvement in process redesign, systems implementation, or tax workflow automation. Experience managing small teams or leading operational pods.
