BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our new manufacturing facility in Viana, Portugal.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Quality representative on the production shopfloor
  • Follow the audit requirements specified in the control plans
  • Conduct first and last part approval in line with the control plans
  • Review daily defects in FTQ and notify Quality Engineer and Engineering about new failure modes or abnormal quantities of failures
  • Assess daily scrap and notify Quality Engineer and Engineering about new failure modes or abnormal quantities of failures
  • Resolve any uncertainties arising during the production process based on engineering specifications
  • Identify and report any defective or suspicious products/raw materials to the Quality Engineer to prevent incorrect shipment
  • Collaborate with supplier quality for incoming inspection in case of defects in raw materials as per internal procedures
  • Maintain the containment area
  • Ensure correct completion of control charts as per respective capability studies
  • Evaluate measurement systems' suitability in alignment with procedures
  • Update Quality criteria
  • Conduct process checks (audits), compile results, and issue verifications
  • Assist in equipment validation and conduct capability studies and MSA in support of engineering
  • Participate in studies related to quality matters
  • Implement Containment Plans
  • Adhere to proper handling and storage of chemical substances
  • Enforce adequate collection and storage of waste
  • Implement the 5S principles in the quality activity area
  • Adhere to safety, quality, productivity, hygiene, and environmental standards
  • Follow the organization's regulations and internal protocols: Code of Ethics, Practice, and Schedule
  • Maintain workplace safety and cleanliness
  • Adhere to environmental policy guidelines
  • Undertake additional tasks as required by the service's needs or convenience for the designated period

Education & Work Experience

  • High school diploma in a related technical field
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication
  • Fluency in English
