In the last 30/40 years, the electricity sector began a transformation process that tend to increase with the global alignment towards the decarbonization.

EDP Inovação plays a key role in this positioning, identifying market trends, new technologies, innovative business models, testing ideas and solutions and scaling them across the EDP Group throughout the entire value chain.

The
INNOVATION MANAGEMENT TEAM department aligned with EDP Inovação, is hiring for the
DISTRIBUTED ENERGY, MOB & DECARBONIZATIO area, a CUSTOMER INNOVATION - ENERGY & DECARBONIZATION.

The energy transition has started.

The pressure for businesses, particularly industrial businesses, to reduce their carbon footprint is building up fast, but doing that effectively is not easy.

EDP wants to lead the way by offering new carbon neutral ways for our customers to use energy.

To do that, we need to deeply understand the problems our customers are facing, the technologies that can be used to solve them and the business models that can make those solutions viable.

We need to excel at innovation.

  • YOUR MISSION AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES_


Your mission is to continuously propose and validate new disruptive solutions to our customers' energy problems, in the form of new products and services.


To do this, you will need to:

  • Develop a deep understanding of what our customers are trying to achieve and the energy and decarbonization problems that they face, by continuously engaging with multiple customers and EDP's business units.
  • Become an expert and advisor in the energy & decarbonization solution space (technology and business models); where it is and where it is going, by tapping on and unifying various sources of knowledge: startups, OEMs, academia, consultants, etc.
  • Propose and develop disruptive solution hypotheses, typically in the form of new services and products built with stateoftheart technology that enable Customers to use energy in carbon neutral ways.
  • Preevaluate solution hypotheses in terms of customer value (does it solve the problem well?), business viability (does it work as a business?) and technical feasibility (can it be implemented?).
  • Help plan and execute pilot projects in collaboration with heterogeneous delivery teams to further validate the solutions.

But you also have your feet on the ground. You know that most ideas fail, and you are not afraid to put your own ideas through rigorous testing.

You accept that great solutions require a lot of knowledge, critical thinking, iteration and hard work and you have grit to keep going until you achieve what you consider success.

You continuously work with other people to discuss ideas, validate your assumptions, and make sure you are solving the right problems.


THE MAIN SKILLS YOU NEED TO HAVE

  • Quantitative Analysis
  • You will need to gather the right data and be able to analyse business models (profits, cost, etc.), technology performance (power, output, etc.) and customer and market behaviors (energy trends, etc.)


 Subjective Analysis
  • You will need to research and understand customer processes and pains, what customers have in common with each other and what they do not, technology and business trends, EDP's business and organization, enduser experiences, among many other hardtomeasure things.


 Structured Creativity
  • You will need the discipline to frame the customer and market problems as well as possible so that disruptive solutions emerge from the process.


Relationship Management - you will need to maintain mutually beneficial strong ties with multiple stakeholders: customers, business units, other innovation teams, among others.
