We offer state-of-the-art R&D infrastructure for cellular bioengineering and biology research, including flow cytometry, cell sorting and microscopy, in addition to a Mass Spectrometry Unit and a Late-Stage R&D and Bioproduction Unit.

With our new building, iBET Biofarma, we are expanding our research infrastructure with 30 new labs, including one BSL3, which will accommodate up to 100 new researchers.


Scientific Area:

Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Cell Line Development

Admission Requirements:

  • Academic degree: Bachelor in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related areas;
  • Previous experience in cell line development and/or with experience in viral vectors
production;

  • Proven experience in aseptic techniques for cell culture and other good laboratory
practices;

  • Proven experience in Molecular Biology techniques (such as qPCR or cell engineering
approaches);

  • Strong motivation for applied research;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English;
  • Embody the iBET's core values of Ambition, Commitment, Integrity, Search for Knowledge, Innovation, Service;
  • Immediate availability.

Work Plan:

The work plan will be focused on improving the production of rAAV vectors.

To achieve this objective, the main tasks of this project will be:

  • Optimization of HeLaS3 cell culture and production of rAAVs;
  • Generate cell lines for viral vectors production;
  • Generate engineered clones by CRISPR or related based technology.

Fellowship Duration:


The fellowship will have a duration of 5 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law.

The expected starting date is 1st of October of 2023.

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 16 values 30%;
  • Curriculum Assessment (CV) according to the admission requirements 70%.
Applicants who do not meet the above admission requirements will not be eligible.
