The Team
The Accounts Payable team based in Portugal services 5 business units across the international Hiscox group and is responsible for the paying of supplier invoices and employee expenses accurately and on time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support AP Manager in day-to-day Accounts Payable function, to support and oversee training and development of team
- Responsible for embed new all AP processes
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, be the second point of contact for the Accounts Payable team
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all invoices & expenses.
- Oversee processing of weekly payment runs
- Promote expense management and cost control throughout the Business by providing regular, timely, and targeted reporting from the procurement system, Marketplace
- Ensuring that monthly reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts are conducted in compliance with internal control policy
- Prepare statutory reporting on Accounts Payable practices.
- Support Finance teams & wider Business with ad-hoc duties as required
Person Specification
- Fluent in English & Portuguese (Spanish, French, German or Dutch will be an added value)
- Experience of managing KPIs, SLAs and other performance metrics
- Mindset of continuous development, able to demonstrate how to effectively deliver change to different stakeholder groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstratable understanding of accounting and management principles and accounts payable procedures would be an advantage
Professional
- Experience in Accounts Payable is essential
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel knowledge
- Oracle and/or Procure to Pay system knowledge will be an advantage
