Associate Director, Learning Program Management

The candidate must be based in Lisbon.

Purpose of the role

As an Associate Director of Learning Program Management, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of Athena's training activities within the internal SAP environment. You will work closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with the company's business objectives and the specific training needs of participants. Developing comprehensive project plans outlining schedules, budgets, and critical milestones is key to ensuring the success of each training initiative. Managing stakeholder communication and engagement during the training process, providing regular updates, and proactively addressing any challenges that may arise are crucial aspects of the role. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying and resolving potential issues to guarantee project success. Monitoring and evaluating training effectiveness for continuous improvement is vital for the role, contributing significantly to the company's success and the professional growth of its employees.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end training activities within Athena.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and training requirements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets while monitoring progress against key milestones and KPIs.
  • Identify and allocate necessary resources, including subject-matter experts and trainers.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and engagement throughout the training lifecycle, providing regular updates and addressing concerns proactively.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impact training delivery, implementing corrective actions as needed for project success.
  • Monitor and evaluate training completion and effectiveness, gathering feedback for improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Manage wrap-around training activities, including user engagement and communications.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Learning and Development, Business Administration, Project Management, or related fields with a focus on corporate learning methodologies.
  • Proven experience in managing corporate training projects, particularly in technology implementations such as SAP.
  • Strong project management skills, with proficiency in developing project plans, resource allocation, and progress tracking using both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities to navigate complex situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Sound knowledge of learning technology, instructional design principles, and adult learning theories.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent, with experience leading Agile project teams.
  • Experience with enterprise software platforms like SAP.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and cross-functional team management.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira.
