BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results-driven" individual to join as Incoming Inspection Technician at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities Supplier Quality & Development Engineer representative in the production shop floorInspect the reception of external purchase raw materials, complying with established control plans and instructions and in accordance with the audit requirementsInternal communication, management, and follow-up of possible supplier issues together with the SQA SQ&D EngineerManagement and control of suspect or rejected material due to supplier problems. Follow-up of this material in accordance with the decisions taken by the SQ&D EngineerPrepare documentation and reports associated with the roleCarry out activities from a perspective of continuous improvementIssue or assure, when necessary, control charts are properly filled out according to the respective capability studiesAssess the suitability of measurement systems (MSA), when necessary, in accordance with the proceduresKeep the Quality criteria updatedComply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene, and environmental prevention standardsComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations Code of Ethics, Practice, and ScheduleRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rulesRespect and comply with environmental policy rulesPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of serviceEducation & Experience Secondary education in a related technical areaRelevant experience in the field will be valuedExperience in using basic measuring and control instruments (caliper, micrometer)Knowledge of references on the automotive sector quality standard (preferred)Training in quality tools and techniques PPAP, 8D, process AMFE (preferred)Knowledge of interpretation of technical plans (preferred)Good communication skillsGood computer skillsFluent in EnglishFluent in PortugueseEEO Statement BorgWarner is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin or disability.
