BorgWarner is seeking a Quality Engineer and Supplier Management Specialist to join our team in Viana do Castelo II, Portugal.
SalaryThe estimated salary for this position ranges from 40,000 to 60,000 EUR per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer and Supplier Management Specialist to lead the incoming inspection activities, organize daily operations, and monitor quality control. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge of industrial problems, manufacturing processes, and ISO-9001/IATF16949 standard requirements.
- Plan, prioritize, operate, and monitor daily activities of the Incoming Inspection Technician area and allocated facilities.
- Conduct and oversee incoming inspection activities, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting results in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain supplier quality supplies and materials inventory.
- Support development and implementation of systems designed to support incoming inspection activities.
- Responsible for the incoming inspection audits per existing control plan and dedicated area for this activity.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Degree in Engineering or related technical area.
- 3+ years of experience in quality engineering and supplier management.
- Solid knowledge of industrial problems (8D Methodology) and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of ISO-9001/IATF16949 standard requirements, including APQP and PPAP.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in Minitab.
- Interpersonal communication and fluency in English and Portuguese.
