Head of DevelopmentLisboaLisbon, Lisbon, Portugal Job DescriptionEurofins endeavours to develop all of our software applications- house to service and support our numerous laboratories globally. With hundreds of thousands of clinical diagnostic tests performed every day, the laboratories of the Eurofins clinical diagnostic services business line strive to ensure that every patient, wherever he or she lives, has access to the most specialized and most innovative techniques for diagnosis, monitoring and therapeutic decisions. Such activities require extensive planning and organisation which can be augmented by the use of technology.Our Clinical LIMS Europe Program will extensively be used as the central Laboratory Information Management System throughout Europe, this role is crucial in defining and delivering support &Team ManagementHe/She will be fully responsible for a team of up to 25 direct reports in multiple geographic regions setting up smart objectives to drive a continues improvement culture; and interact positively and collaboratively with other team heads and senior leadership, navigate large company processes.Where will you be based and what business will you support?The role is based in Lisbon, with a hybrid working model (2 days in the office), occasional travel outside of Portugal may be required.How can you help us?As a Head of Development , you will actively interact with Product Owners, scrum masters, testers, developers and other stakeholders to, reporting to the Program Technical Director:Navigate corporate policies to enhance team deliveryPlan, coordinate and deliver IT Applications as required by the Programfacilitate the most appropriate technical solution to meet application requirements;Design, develop, deploy and support Cloud applications, solutions as per business requirements;Be responsible for communicating KPIs.Maintain, modify, optimize and extend existing solutions as a part of support and performance optimization projects;Work together with other team members (Product Owner, Scrum Master, Dev/QA etc) to ensure high quality of delivered solutions;Collaborate with Software Architect(s) and other technical groups within Eurofins to support design, documentation, prototyping and validation;Ensure good practices and high quality coding &security standards are implemented and followed.QualificationsAre you our kind of extraordinary?Minimum 7 years of experience managing application development teamsGood understanding of software design & architecture principles;Empathetic leadership skillsStrong experience in designing and working with- tier architecture solutions;Experience in test driven development and test automation on all levels;Solid working knowledge of Angular 10+;Understanding and Prior exposure to Co-PilotGood understanding of relational databases (mssql);Basic knowledge of AWS Cloud concept and tools (Cloud concepts, Docker, Kubernetes);Comfortable in unit testing and mocking for Java and Angular;Understanding of- oriented programming (OOP) and Object Oriented Design principles;Knowldege of UX/UI designStrong knowledge of software implementation best practices (e. g. SOLID);Able to provide technical recommendations and solve technical problems;Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills;Fluent English communication skills required (written/oral).
