Allyn International is currently looking for a full-time Logistics Team Leader in Porto to join our organization

Allyn International is a privately held professional services firm established in 1992. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, customer-centric services and solutions for the global marketplace. Our core products include transportation management, logistics sourcing, freight forwarding, supply chain consulting, tax management, and customs compliance.
The Logistics Team Leader is responsible for managing the department's day to day operations , having an immediate impact on business fulfillment , client relations , and the achievement of long-term departmental goals and objectives. This position works with the Logistics Manager to ensure that standard processes and relevant metrics are in place, and are used to improve customer service , reduce or contain transport costs , and increase the productivity of the department . The Logistics Leader has primary responsibility for prompt issue resolution and acts as back up to the Logistics Manager .
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations and coordinate the routing process if needed.
Training for newcomers, internal team members or external customers/suppliers if needed.
Manage staffing - provide support to HR in recruitment (face-to-face interviews); onboarding of new employees; team building and well-being of the employees.
Distribute workload efficiently among department team members.
Manage on-call shift for department team members.
Facilitate prompt issue resolution and oversee issue resolution within the department. Timely forward suggested corrective actions or issues needing additional attention to the Logistics Manager.
Suggest process improvements.
Run standard reports and metrics on a regular basis. Analyze and review findings with Logistics Manager.
Ensure client satisfaction.
Manage special projects.
Travel to client locations as needed.
Actively support sales, marketing and business development.
Support marketing efforts such as article publications, launching campaigns.
Supervise and manage employees regarding:
a. Time sheets and time off
b. Performance reviews and Personal Development Plans (PDP's)
c. Disciplinary action and write ups
d. Policy compliance
e. Coaching
f. Employee growth
Any additional tasks related to Scope of Work agreed with the client.
